This book of British Military Music of the War of 1812 was exclusively designed for Fort York National Historic Site.

The music in this package includes some of the most popular military tunes of the War of 1812 period. The arrangements have been chosen from two sources, each representing a different aspect of the music of the British corps of drums - Samuel Potter's  The Art of Playing the Fire, with the Camp, Garrison and Street Duty (1817) and the John Buttrey Manuscript (probably hand copied c. 1782-1804).

This book contains several reproductions of historical images as well as an in-depth article about the lives of military musicians in the Canadian Regiment .
