This large mug features rainbow coloured feathers and tells a story. Titled, Pride Feathers, it is painted in the Woodland style and has the artist's signature on the inside.

"This is my representation of eagle feathers. In my culture, we believe that because the eagle flies the highest, he carries the prayers of the people to the Creator. When one is found or is given to you, it means that you've done something significant and you're on the right path in life. Having the courage to be who you are and living with Pride in the LGBTQ2S community is something that I believe is worthy of many eagle feathers." - P. Hunter

About the Artist:

Patrick Hunter, is an Ojibway, 2spirit, Woodland and graphic artist from Red Lake, Ontario. He launched Patrick Hunter Art & Design in 2014 with the intent to make artwork that makes people feel good and to create a broader awareness of Indigenous culture and iconography.  He is best known for his paintings in the Woodland art style being inspired by his homeland, the works of Norval Morrisseau, and the Canadian Group of Seven.  His strong yet elegant graphic work invites us to realize that everything has spirit and significance; everything from the smallest seed to the largest tree.

Patrick’s dream to create a positive future for his people has led him to become the first Artist in Residence for the Prince’s Trust Canada, a Royal charity in which aides in the reclamation of Indigenous languages in Canada.
