Celebrate Maria Qamar’s bold new installation Washed Up at Scarborough Museums with exclusive limited edition merch, featuring custom-designed T-shirts and stickers inspired by the artist’s signature pop-art style and razor-sharp wit.

These pieces reflect the themes of Washed Up—identity, cultural expectations, and the immigrant experience—infused with Qamar’s unapologetic humour and South Asian aesthetic. Each T-shirt and sticker set showcases original artwork created for the exhibit, making them collectible, wearable statements.

Available only at Toronto History Museums Online Shop and Scarborough Museum — once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Experience Washed Up by Hatecopy at Scarborough Museum until January 2026. The project captures the essence of liminal spaces that serve as cultural hubs for the South Asian immigrant communities, using the washing machine as a vessel to carry textiles that signify our roots and drawing visitors into an environment that intertwines the past, present, and future; acknowledging the dirty laundry of Canadian History and “Truth,” and reclaiming both seen and unseen spaces.

Maria Qamar (b. 1991) is a Toronto-based pop artist whose work is focused on the South Asian diaspora and immigrant communities and their cultural experiences. The work specializes in themes regarding feminism, social change, humour, pop culture, politics and romance.
