The 41st (Welch) Regiment of Foot was an infantry regiment of the British Army, raised in 1719. As the only full British Regiment in Upper Canada in 1812, the 41st bore the principal burden of repelling the initial American attacks. It comprised the main part of Brock's force, which captured Detroit in August 1812, and was also the main component of the British force which avenged his death at Queenston Heights.

This button comes backed on a postcard featuring a watercolour print of a 41st Regiment of Foot, British Private, 1812, by Don Troiani. Note: Artwork Copyright © Don Troiani, used with permission.
